Tech firms form Open Connectivity Foundation for the Internet of Things
Tech companies including Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Samsung have formed a group dedicated to standardizing development for the Internet of Things. The Open Connectivity Foundation is meant to "create IoT solutions and devices that work seamlessly together," the group said. Qualcomm's Michael Wallace added, "We believe that fragmentation is the enemy of IoT." The new foundation will replace the Open Interconnect Consortium, formed in 2014.VentureBeat
