Quem é a DCC?

http://www.smartdcc.co.uk/about-us/ The Government's vision is for every home in Great Britain to have smart energy meters. To achieve this the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has created the Smart Metering Implementation Programme (SMIP) which takes an energy supplier-led approach to roll-out an estimated 53 million smart electricity and gas meters to domestic and small non-domestic properties in Great Britain by 2020. The SMIP business case envisages that the introduction of smart metering will deliver the following benefits: Provide consumers with real-time information on their energy consumption to help them control and manage their energy use, save money and reduce emissions Provide consumers with more accurate meter readings and bring an end to estimated billing Support Great Britain's transition to a low-carbon economy and help meet some of the long-term challenges faced in ensuring an affordable, secure and sustainable energy supply Enable a demand-side transformation in the energy industry by giving consumers access to information to make informed purchasing decisions and reducing the barriers to switching between energy suppliers. The role of the DCC is to provide communication services between smart meters and the business systems of energy suppliers, network operators and other authorised service users. To achieve this, the DCC will put in place the shared data and communications infrastructure necessary for smart meters to: Operate consistently for all consumers regardless of their energy supplier Provide smart metering data to network operators in support of smart grids Permit authorised third parties to provide services to consumers once they have granted permission to use their data, offering new routes for consumers to receive energy services and advice on how to reduce their energy usage. For further information on the Smart Metering Implementation Programme please click here Smart Energy Code (SEC) The Smart Energy Code (SEC) is an industry code that all parties must accede to if they wish to use the DCC's services. The SEC will be given contractual force through a multilateral framework agreement between all SEC parties and the DCC. The designated version of the SEC is available on the SECAS website.
